Assistant Controller
What we are looking for:The Assistant Controller will be responsible for reporting the financial results for companies. Primary responsibilities are completing month end close tasks, journal entries, bank reconciliations, monthly reporting, account reconciliations and analysis of financial results.

Back to the role:
What you will do:
Prepares monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
Manages, facilitates, and completes monthly close procedures.
Prepares monthly revenue and expense analysis.
Develops monthly margin analyses and reconciliations by customer and line of business.
Prepares monthly close reconciliations.
Reports on financial statement variances vs. budget vs. prior year
Prepares and manages the creation of weekly reporting:
Sales analysis
Margin analysis – customer, sales manager, line of business
Partners with sales teams
Job margin analysis
Program analysis (i.e., OPL program, customer discounts)
Investment returns
Reporting development
Manages and mentors junior accounting staff.
Assists in annual audit.
Assists in preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
Creates, implements, and monitors internal controls.
Ad-hoc projects
Assist in credit decisions for customers and evaluate collection strategies.
Assist in weekly cashflow evaluation.
Assist in evaluation and of sales tax compliance.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Supervisory:
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new team members in the department.
Assist in the oversight of the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
Create and execute a strategy to recruit, train, and career path a passionate, energetic, and ambitious customer care workforce.
Motivate and support the team by being a champion of positivity in the workplace to foster a productive and supportive environment.
What you should have:
Strong FP&A capability, including ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with actionable insights.
Advanced financial analytics skills (trend analysis, scenario modeling, KPI development) to support data-driven decisions.
Ability to partner cross-functionally (e.g., Sales/Operations) to drive margin improvement and business performance
Ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
Highly detail oriented and organized in work.
Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent Excel and computer skills
Experience with Epicor or other ERP software
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
6+ years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus, but not required.
Combination of public and private accounting experience a plus but not required
