Procurement Project Lead
What we are looking for:
The Procurement Project Lead will be responsible for overseeing procurement projects from start to finish. This position’s main role is ensuring that procurement projects are completed successfully, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. This role requires strong project management, procurement, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage supplier relationships. This position reports to the Director of Planning and Procurement.

What you will do:
- Overseeing procurement projects and ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and buy-in for project goals and objectives.
- Facilitating communication and coordination among cross-functional teams, including procurement, sales, accounting, customer care, and operations, to ensure procurement needs are met.
- Identifying procurement requirements and developing procurement plans, strategies, and policies to support project objectives.
- Managing supplier relationships, negotiating new projects, and identifying cost savings opportunities.
- Monitor project progress, track project performance metrics, and report on project status to project stakeholders.
- Manage changes to project scope, timeline, and budget, ensuring that all changes are documented and communicated effectively.
- Evaluate the quality of each vendor relationship based on reliability, quality and price and actively work to improve relationship with supplier and all companies within our organization.
- Place Purchase Orders with multiple vendors, determining the cost of deliveries and the best methods of transportation.
- Support the accounting/finance team in the invoicing process and work closely with the team to communicate any invoice/credit discrepancies, outstanding purchase orders and amounts due with terms, accrued purchases report, item cost adjustments, freight charges, credits, etc.
- Propose and implement changes to existing procurement strategies for projects to streamline and improve overall performance while maintaining cost controls and creating cost effective use of resources.
- Collaborates with in-house and 3PL warehouses, logistic partners, and project locations to manage incoming shipments.
- Provide reporting and analytics as required by management.
- Maintains accuracy of data within enterprise resource planning system (EPR).
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
What you should have:
- 3-5 years in Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain related experience, including experience managing procurement projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in relevant field.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocations.
- Strong organizational development, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to navigate an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, knowledge in Epicor a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to negotiate project costs and manage supplier relationships.
Salary Range:
$80,000-$90,000 per year plus bonus
